Hello! I am Sallamah Chimera. I want to thank everyone who has studied, attended our shows, or shopped at EDE. Its been an amazing 25 years teaching belly dance in Gainesville. Our last class will be on Feb. 16. We still have several weeks remaining, so come join me at Ethnic Dance Expressions School of Belly Dance and be part of a unique opportunity to learn to belly dance with a seasoned dancer and teacher. It doesn't matter what you look like or how well you can move, I will work with you to help you transform yourself into the dancer you want to be. You will learn all the fundamentals in a supportive, friendly environment surrounded by other people just like you. I take into account each student's individual capabilities and tailor the instruction so it is tangible while making sure you feel challenged and inspired in every class. In-Person Classes
APRIL 2024 - Studio is Closed
On February 16, 2024, I will be closing the studio and retiring from the business side of dancing. I will offer private classes for those students who still have classes remaining on their dance cards as well as keep the dance troupe so we can perform. It has been an exciting 45 years of dancing and learning. I want to thank all my Gainesville students over the last 25 years for their support and patronage and community members who have promoted us and given us opportunities to dance.
Belly Dance Instruction for Everyone
Sallamah teaches a combination of Classic American, Egyptian, Turkish and Lebanese Cabaret & Folkloric Styles with a little fusion and tribal to offer a new challenge.
- EDE has basic Belly Dance Technique, Beginner I, Beginner II, Intermediate and Advance Belly Dance Classes
- EDE offers Dance Performances & School Dance Company
- EDE's Speciality Dance Workshops include: Veils, Solo & Restaurant Performing, Quick-Start Technique, and Improvisational Dancing.
- Sallamah also offers Coaching for students who want to compete or create their own solos.
- Costume Sewing Workshops teach students the sewing basics as they build their costume wardrobes.
